A striking set of 15 vintage gold-tone buttons in a bold Medusa starburst design, each measuring 5/8 inch with a sturdy D-shank back. Delicate filigree work surrounds the central medallion, framed by a classic Roman/Greek key border — a look that recalls the high-glamour designer fashions of the 1970s. Photographs show some glare and shadow, but in hand these buttons read as richly, unmistakably gold.

These come from the personal stock of the Susslar family, founders of the original Harlem-Adler Button Company and later the Lauber Novelty Button Company, a premier high-end button house that sourced and sold buttons worldwide. Stored for more than fifty years in a smoke-free, climate-controlled room in their original button boxes, this is the very first time they have been offered for sale.
