Vintage Versace-Style Gold Medusa Starburst Buttons, 1 1/8" D-Shank — Lot 2 of 22
A set of 22 vintage designer-style buttons in gleaming gold tone, each measuring 1 1/8" across with a sturdy D-shank back. The face features a Medusa starburst head with delicate filigree work, framed by a Roman Greek key border — an unmistakably bold, high-fashion look that dresses up a blazer, coat, or couture project instantly.
These come from the storied Lauber Novelty Button Company collection. Founded by Morris Susslar, formerly of the original Harlem-Adler Button Company, Lauber was a premier high-end button house with a storefront in the NYC garment center, wholesaling to apparel makers for decades. Dating to circa 1970s, these buttons were stored for over 50 years in a smoke-free, climate-controlled room in their original button boxes.
Mint condition — photos show some glare and shadow, but in person they are richly gold. This is Lot 2 of a four-part, 88-piece collection offered for the very first time, exclusive to Dave's Discovery Den. Sets are not broken up, and multiple lots purchased together will ship together. All sales are final; questions and additional photos welcome.
