Vintage 1970s-80s Smoky Gray Iridescent Mother-of-Pearl Look Buttons, 1 3/4" - Lot of 20
A lot of 20 oversized vintage buttons in a smoky gray, mother-of-pearl style finish. Each 1 3/4" four-hole button has a deeply iridescent face that mimics real natural shell, with a shimmering black-gray reverse. Slight variation from button to button gives the set the same organic character you'd find in genuine shell.
These came from the Lauber Novelty Button Company of New York City — originally the Harlem-Adler Company, founded in the 1940s by Morris Sussal — which supplied high-end wholesale buyers and many recognizable garment brands until closing in 2005. Made in the 1970s-80s and stored in original button boxes in a smoke-free home for over 40 years.
Mint and never used, ideal for statement coats, jackets, sewing projects, or jewelry and craft work. Packed carefully in bags with bubble wrap and button boxes. Quantities are limited and no more of this style will be listed.
