1995 Earth Day "Resource Recovery" First Day Cover - April 20, 1995 Washington DC

A Postal Commemorative Society First Day Cover panel celebrating the 25th Anniversary of Earth Day, featuring the "Resource Recovery" design. The panel carries two 32c stamps from the Earth Day block-of-four, cancelled April 20, 1995 in Washington, DC with the special "Kids Care!" First Day of Issue pictorial postmark.

The winning artwork came from a nationwide student art competition co-sponsored by the U.S. Postal Service and McDonald's, with designs by Melody Kiper of Shreveport, Louisiana and Brian Hailes of Millville, Utah. An illustrated cachet and full informational text round out the panel.
