Yixing Bamboo-Form Zisha Teapot — Collector's Piece
A striking Yixing zisha clay teapot hand-sculpted in the form of a bamboo trunk, right down to the segmented bamboo-node handle and spout. The warm buff-tan clay is carved with naturalistic bark texture, giving the piece the look of real bamboo caught mid-growth.
Yixing teaware has been prized by Chinese tea drinkers and collectors for centuries for its unglazed, porous clay body. This example is a true one-of-a-kind sculptural piece that displays beautifully on a shelf, tea table, or in a curio cabinet.
Used and in good display condition with its original lid. There is one small nick to the bottom edge (shown in photos) that does not affect display. A wonderful find for the collector of Chinese teaware.
