Vintage Schering Ceramic Apothecary Mortar - Cosmas & Damian 350AD Rx

A handsome vintage ceramic apothecary mortar produced by Schering, the pharmaceutical company, as a promotional collectible. The deep brown-black glaze is accented with raised lettering reading "Cosmas & Damian 350AD" — the patron saints of pharmacists — alongside a bold Rx symbol on the sides.

The piece stands 5" tall with a 5" diameter opening and retains its original cork bottom stamped Schering. Please note this is the mortar only; no pestle is included.

In good vintage condition with no visible cracks or chips, it makes a striking pharmacy or medical collectible, a desk catchall, or a sculptural accent on a bookshelf.
