Vintage Popeye Chalkware Bank - Large Rare Carnival Chalk Figure

A wonderfully oddball piece of American carnival history: a large vintage Popeye chalkware bank standing roughly 10 1/4" tall by 6 1/2" wide. Chalk figures like this were classic midway prizes, and finding one in this size — with a coin slot in the back of the head and the original rubber/metal plug still in the bottom — is genuinely uncommon.

All paint is original and untouched, never repainted, which is exactly what collectors look for. Honest wear is present as pictured: a small chip along the bottom edge, some tape residue on the head, and scuffs with minor paint loss throughout. None of it keeps this sailor man from displaying beautifully on a shelf or in a cabinet.

One of hundreds of Popeye toys and comics being listed here. Multiple purchases are combined into a single shipment to cut down on freight, and everything is stored in a climate-controlled, smoke-free space and packed carefully for safe arrival.
