Vintage Hand-Carved Nut Shank Buttons from India - Lot of 8, 3/4" Cream & Brown

A lot of eight vintage hand-carved shank buttons made in India, each measuring 3/4" in diameter. The creamy natural body is accented with a brown cross-hatch and X pattern, said to be carved from a natural nut, giving every button its own subtle variation in tone and grain.

These date to the late 1970s and come from the deadstock inventory of the Lauber Novelty Button Company, a premier New York City garment-center button house that supplied high-end manufacturers until closing in 2005. Purchased directly from the original manufacturer, they are new old stock in excellent, unused condition.
