Vintage Hand Carved Indian Shank Buttons, 1/2" Cream & Brown - Lot of 10

A lot of 10 vintage hand carved shank buttons from India, each measuring 1/2 inch across. Cream in color with a hand carved brown crosshatch and star motif, these are said to be carved from a natural nut, giving each button subtle variation and warmth no plastic button can match.

Dating to the late 1970s and purchased directly from the original manufacturer, these are unused deadstock in excellent condition. They come from the legendary Lauber Novelty Button Company stock of New York's garment center, a family business that supplied high-end manufacturers from the 1960s until it closed in 2005.
