Vintage Gujarat Tangaliya Handloomed Table Runner / Scarf - Red & Navy, 32.5" x 82"

A true vintage handloomed Tangaliya textile from Gujarat State Handloom & Handicrafts, woven more than 50 years ago. Tangaliya weaving is distinguished by tiny extra knots worked onto the warp threads, producing the craft's signature raised dotted patterning that you can both see and feel.

The deep red field is framed by fine red pinstripe borders and wide navy blue end panels, finished with two inches of fringe at each end. It measures 32.5 by 82 inches plus fringe and is noted as cotton, possibly with silk content. Use it as a table runner, a wrap or scarf, a decorative wall hanging, or a throw over a bench or sofa back.

Mint condition and never used - it was stored in a bag in a climate-controlled, smoke-free room and still looks brand new aside from light fold creases from storage. Dry clean only. A wonderful find for collectors of older, increasingly rare handwoven runners.
