Vintage 1980s Clear Nylon Shank Buttons with Green Star Interior — Set of 20

A set of 20 vintage shank buttons in mint, never-used condition. Each clear nylon resin dome hides a tiny green star-flower suspended inside, giving the button a jewel-like depth that changes with the light. They measure approximately 7/8" across and 1/2" high, with a sturdy shank back ready for sewing.

These date to the 1980s or earlier and appear to have been custom-produced for a garment manufacturer — no matching examples turn up anywhere online. They come from an extensive deadstock collection assembled by a premier wholesaler serving the NYC garment district beginning in the 1950s, stored for decades in button boxes in a smoke-free, climate-controlled room.
