Vintage 1970s Versace-Style Gold Medusa Starburst Shank Buttons - Set of 10 (3/4")
A set of ten vintage 1970s designer buttons in the unmistakable Versace style, each measuring 3/4" with a sturdy D-shank back. The face features a gold-tone Medusa starburst head with fine filigree detail, framed by a Roman/Greek key border. Photography glare dulls the finish slightly — in hand these are a rich, bright gold tone.
These came from the legendary Lauber Novelty Button Company, founded by Morris Susslar of the original Harlem-Adler Button Company, a premier high-end button house that supplied NYC garment center apparel makers for decades. The family kept these stored in original button boxes in a smoke-free, climate-controlled room for over 50 years, and this is the very first time they have ever been offered for sale.
Perfect for a statement blazer, coat, or couture sewing project. Sold as a complete set of 10; sets are not broken up and no additional quantities exist. A companion lot of 10 is also available and will ship together if both are purchased.
