Vintage 1970s Medusa Face Shank Buttons, 1 Inch - Lot of 20 (Versace-Style Gold & Clear)
A lot of 20 vintage 1-inch shank buttons with real runway presence: a clear base centered with a gold Medusa face, framed by a bright gold perimeter worked in a filigree Roman design. The look is unmistakably 1970s high fashion, echoing the Versace aesthetic that dominated designer garments for decades.
Molded in plastic with a flat profile and raised head, these have never been used. They were packed away in button boxes for roughly 40-50 years in a smoke-free home and remain in mint condition, ready for coats, blazers, jackets, or statement craft projects. A matching 3/4 inch size is also available.
These come from the stock of a premier NYC button house founded by Morris Sussal in the 1940s, later known as Lauber Novelty Button Company, which supplied garment manufacturers worldwide until closing in 2005. Only one lot of this style is available, and purchases can be combined to save on shipping.
