Vintage 1970s Gold-Tone Medusa Starburst Buttons, 1 1/8" D-Shank - Lot 4 (22 Buttons)

A striking lot of 22 vintage gold-tone buttons, each measuring 1 1/8" in diameter with a sturdy D-shank back. The design centers on a Medusa starburst head with fine filigree detail, framed by a Greek key/Roman border. In person they read as richly gold — the photos show some glare and shadow that dulls the true finish.

These come from the storied Lauber Novelty Button Company of the NYC garment center, founded by Morris Susslar of the original Harlem-Adler Button Company. Kept for over 50 years in a smoke-free, climate-controlled storeroom in their original button boxes, this is the first time they have ever been offered for sale.

This is Lot 4 of an 88-piece collection divided into four sales; multiple lots purchased together will ship together. Mint condition, limited stock, and no additional pieces of this design are available. Sets are not broken up and all sales are final.
