Vintage 1970s-80s White & Black Crackle Veiling Buttons - Extra Large 1 3/4" (Lot of 10)

A lot of 10 extra-large vintage buttons measuring a generous 1 3/4" across. Each white two-hole button is finished with a striking black crackle/web pattern created using the classic Veiling (Vailing) technique, giving every piece a bold graphic look that reads almost like marble or shattered glass.

These come from a remarkable New York City button archive. Purchased directly from the original manufacturer, the stock traces back to Morris Sussal, founder of Lauber Novelty Button Company, and later his sons' garment-district showroom. Everything in the collection was produced before 1985, with many designs exclusive and no longer made.

New old stock/deadstock condition, never sewn or used. A favorite with sewists and crafters for coats, jackets and statement closures, and equally popular for repurposing into pendants, bracelets and earrings. Multiple lots can be combined; four sizes of this design are available.
