Rare Vintage 1920s York Glass Company Apothecary Jar with Stopper
A genuinely rare survivor from the early 1920s, this apothecary jar was made by the York Glass Company and carries the YCC logo embossed on the base along with a hexagonal maker's mark on the body. It stands 8 inches tall with its original glass stopper in place and measures 3 inches across the base.
The original pharmacy label is still intact, reading "MIST: BISM: CO: c PEPS:" with handsome red and gold banding — the kind of detail that almost never survives a century of handling. The bottle is completely original and unwashed, having sat in storage for more than fifty years, so it arrives with all its authentic patina.
Condition is good overall, with a minor chip on the inside of the stopper shown in the photos. We're happy to wash the jar before shipping if the buyer prefers a cleaner presentation. A striking piece for a druggist collection, a curiosity cabinet, or a vintage-styled shelf.
