Rare Eszter Gyory Original Oil Painting - Early Folk Art Winter Snow Scene, Signed & Framed

A charming early original oil on canvas by Hungarian-born painter and folk artist Eszter Gyory (b. Budapest, 1944). The scene captures children on a horse-drawn sled gliding past colorful village houses and a church steeple, all beneath a deep blue starry sky and crescent moon — a warm, storybook winter moment rendered in true folk art spirit.

Signed on the painting and again on the back of the frame panel, and presented in an ornate carved giltwood frame with a linen liner. The picture measures 5 1/2 x 7 1/2 inches, with an overall framed size of 13 1/4 x 11 1/4 inches. This is one of only three rare snow scenes held in the same private collection since the 1980s.

Condition is mint/excellent, kept in a smoke-free, climate-controlled collection. Gyory's paintings and prints have been featured through Fine Art America, with her work noted in connection with the Smithsonian and the American Folk Art Museum — making this a highly collectible piece for folk art and winter scene enthusiasts.
