Pair of Handmade Arts & Crafts Oak Book Racks with Flint Tiles

A handsome pair of craftsman-made Arts & Crafts / Mission style oak book racks, each measuring roughly 21 1/2" x 6 3/4". The end panels are fitted with Flint tile inserts: four tiles in all, each about 2 1/8". This is decorated with a stylized green and cream floral motif set within a diamond.

Construction is honest and traditional: four exposed pegs, two per side, lock the end pieces to the shelf, and the solid oak shows rich quartersawn-look grain throughout. The two racks are a true pair but vary slightly in stain, one reading reddish and the other a darker chestnut, as pictured. Both carry identical tiles.

In good vintage condition with normal wear consistent with age and use. A great desktop or shelf-top solution for books, and a natural fit for a bungalow, Mission, or Craftsman-style interior. Sold as a pair.
