Handmade Green Ceramic Cicada Wall Pocket Planter - Oversized, Signed

A striking handmade ceramic wall pocket shaped like a cicada, finished in a deep glossy green glaze that catches the light beautifully. The front features crisply molded wing detail, and the piece measures a generous 12 1/4" x 6 1/8" — noticeably larger than most examples of this form. It is signed on the reverse and fitted with a built-in hanging hole and wire, ready to display straight out of the box.

Research suggests this style was hand made in France; this example was purchased at a pottery fair in the USA around 2009. Susan Antee is the artist most often associated with these cicada wall pockets, though the signature here does not match, so attribution remains unconfirmed.

In perfect, unused mint condition with wonderful color as shown in the photos. A lovely accent for a kitchen, den, bathroom, or covered deck, either as a small hanging planter or purely decorative wall art. Please review all pictures and ask any questions, as all sales are final.
