Hand Blown Amethyst Purple Glass Orb Vase with Rubberized Dots & Glass Pedestal

A striking one-of-a-kind hand blown glass orb in deep amethyst purple, its rounded surface studded with rubberized dot accents set directly into the glass. Purchased at a high-end art and craft fair in New York City in 1989, it has spent its life as a display piece and remains in mint condition.

The orb measures roughly 5 1/2 inches in diameter by 4 1/2 inches high and is hollow with an opening at the top, so it can hold a small bouquet or stand on its own as sculpture. The glass is thick and substantial yet still reads as delicate and light-catching. A clear glass pedestal stand is included, dimpled where the rubber dots rest against it.
