Antique Beacon-Style Camp Blanket - Green Plaid Jacquard with Floral Border, 65x68
A rare antique camp blanket measuring 65" x 68", woven in a rich all-over check of pea green with rust and navy, plus a light shadow stripe running through the design. What sets it apart is the distinctive floral jacquard border - a detail we have never encountered on another blanket of this type.
Purchased in the early 1980s as an antique in Massachusetts, it is believed to be an early Beacon-style camp blanket produced between 1920 and 1940. Beacon blankets were classic Indian trade camp blankets once sold through Sears and JCPenney, and originals in this pattern rarely surface.
In very good condition with some storage creasing, as it has never been pressed. Kept in a chest in a climate-controlled, smoke-free room. A wonderful layer for a cabin bed, lodge sofa, or as a decorative textile. All sales final.
