Antique 1887 "The Rochester" F. Meyrose & Co Ornate Brass Oil Lamp
A genuinely rare survivor: an ornate brass oil lamp marked "The Rochester" by F. Meyrose & Co, dated July 5, 1887. The embossed body features repousse floral work and beaded detailing that catches the light beautifully from every angle.
Carefully examined with no dents found anywhere on the body, which is remarkable for a lamp approaching 140 years old. The metal shows honest wear and a soft patina with slight discoloring, while the chimney glass is in excellent shape and was most likely replaced around 40 years ago.
The lamp was electrified at some point and all pieces are present, though a new plug should be fitted before use. It stands about 21" tall, 9" wide at the widest mid section, on a 5" base. Shipping to the lower 48 states only.
