Sponsored by The Children's Book Council with introduction and text by noted children's literature historian Leonard S. Marcus, it doubles as both an art book and a reference on the evolution of American picture-book style.

Condition is excellent and single-owner. Like many volumes in this children's and children's-illustrators collection, it may carry a small name sticker on an inside page; most books here were collected rather than read. It comes from an extensive home library assembled over three generations of a family of bibliophiles.
