1959 Mattel Strum-Fun Getar Toy Guitar - Complete in Box with 8 Music Discs

A wonderful survivor from the height of the TV cowboy craze, this 1959 Mattel Strum-Fun Getar comes complete in its original box. Strum it like a ukulele, or work the strumming lever to power the built-in music box - swap any of the eight changeable plastic discs in the back and the tune changes with it.

This example comes from the original owner and includes all eight music discs, the original songbook, a spare nylon string, and the original pick. Playing instructions are printed right on the box and molded into the back of the geetar itself.

Guitar and box present in very good to fine condition, with corner scuffs and a few faint crayon circles inside the lid (the work of a little sister around 1959-60). The yellow plastic disc hold-down strap is broken but intact and still functional, and the songbook shows light wear. A charming find for collectors of vintage Mattel toys and children's musical instruments.
